A new enhanced Information Technology Services (ITS) Project Management Framework was announced earlier this month. It provides important tools for delivering high quality results to customers–which is a core value for ITS. As a service organization, we support the research, academic, and service missions of the University and we take seriously the commitment to:
- Deliver High Quality Services
- Foster Customer Partnerships
- Establish Understanding, Trust and Accountability
- Make Data-Driven, Innovative, Customer Focused Decisions
- Facilitate Collaboration, Cooperation, and Communication
Meeting delivery dates with high quality is critical to the overall success of the organization. Setting realistic expectations, creating achievable project plans, and delivering the right solution on time and on budget are the ways to do so. By scoping the work correctly, estimating the amount of effort needed, assigning staff with the right skills, and adding schedule and budget contingencies, ITS can stay on target with meeting the needs of our customers. The tools provided in the new framework help do this.
During a project, ITS monitors the progress to be sure nothing gets off track. And when ITS meets planned delivery dates, both internal and external customers gain confidence in our ability to estimate, plan, and execute.
The best way to deliver high quality results on time and on budget? Take the time up front to build a realistic plan using the Project Management Framework, and monitor progress along the way.
