A new Network Access Point (NAP) has been constructed, and services must now be migrated to it without disrupting university activities. NAPs are specially designed data centers for all the equipment interconnecting university facilities to each other and the world. The value provided by moving services to the new facility is enhanced survivability and capacity to expand with the university's growing network.
Completion by the optics vendor was delayed, but the facility has now been turned over to the university so it can install monitor systems and make the facility ready. New network equipment to be installed in the NAP has begun to arrive.
